Losing our precious moments

Where are we running?

We are trying to be everywhere at the same time and cannot stop checking our mobiles. Because postal mail became too slow for our exciting lives, our email inboxes are bursting. We have become scared of ourselves and try to avoid us where we can by staring at moving electrons in our televisions.

We are doing internships in order to spice up our vitas which we hope will qualify us for a desirable lifestyle that we dream of. We are the fast generation who is never standing still. We are always on the run for the great glory and wealth. All this self-actualising has finally torn us apart and dug a deeper ditch between what we are and what we think we want to be.

It might sound out of tune: Happiness.

What can you tell me about happiness? Well, let me tell you that the revolution will not be televised. All those things that we ask for have become our objectified desire for happiness.

Now let me show you your problem: Happiness is nothing you can gain or compete for. You can think you are happy but in the next moment you get crushed down to your soul. You can feel it but you cannot grasp it. You can have it but you cannot own it. Happiness is not something that you are given or awarded. If you think you have it will immediately slip out of your hands.

Happiness is nothing but feeling a satisfaction deep down to your soul. And it is these tiny breakable moments which make us go on. It is these moments in which you without a doubt know that you were right about everything you did. And it is these moments which give us strength and the unshakeable belief that we will continue on our lives’ roads.
